At the beginning of 2016, I went on a journey of a lifetime that would change my mindset forever.

I joined a group of super high achieving entrepreneurs called The Unstoppables on a trip to the Amazon and Brazil that would change my mindset by allowing me to see into the extraordinary minds of highly successful entrepreneurs. I’ve got to tell you, it was like being on a different planet.

Never before had I been in such an intimate environment for such an extended period of time with so many high functioning individuals. It was an incredible experience that changed the way I see myself and life and the way I do business forever.

There is nothing I can share with you that can compare to being immersed in the experience directly. However, these 10 things that I learned from these people, who I now call my friends and colleagues, will help to give you a glimpse of what’s necessary if you want to achieve big dreams.

  1. Self Care Is Essential

In order to take care of others, we must take care of ourselves first. I saw this first hand on my trip with these larger than life philanthropic entrepreneurs. Having created multi-million dollar businesses, their attention is now turning to leaving a legacy through social enterprise helping others in 3rd world countries with sanitation, education and sustainability.

If you want to give $1,000,000, make $2,000,000.

  1. You Must Back Yourself

If you want to succeed, then you must be willing to back yourself, take calculated risks and do whatever it takes. A half-hearted attempt will not produce any results.

What are you willing to do? What are you prepared to sacrifice? To what lengths are you willing to go to achieve your goals? Are you prepared to not just get out of your comfort zone, but smash your comfort zone?

  1. Collaboration Is The Key To A Sustainable Future

All of the multi-millionaires on the trip had partnered / collaborated with multiple people to get to where they are. They also built a team of people who are supporting them in achieving their vision every step of the way. They are well aware of their strengths and weaknesses and know they can’t do it on their own.

Who’s on your team? Who’s supporting you? Who are you collaborating with to achieve your goals?
Stop trying to do everything on your own.

When you collaborate, your multiply your efforts many times over.

  1. Nice Guys Can Finish First

These people were seriously nice dudes with big hearts wanting to make the world a better place. They care about others and have a vision of using their excess resources to make a difference to the environment and humanity in some capacity.

Their businesses are built on service and commitment to excellence. They value and look after their employees knowing that they are their best asset.

In short, they are compassionate, kind, caring people who just happen to make a lot of money. And they are just the tip of the iceberg. Nice guys can finish first!

  1. Ask For What You Want

If you don’t ask, you don’t get. It really is that simple. And you might even get what you ask for.

You must be well prepared with your ‘pitch’ to a potential investor and be able to present our business models complete with succinct, definitive explanations of the project, marketplace research and expectations, projected revenue, time frames, resources required, benefits for an investor, etc. Bottom line, know what you want, ask for it, and state your case clearly as to why you’re a good investment.

  1. Your Environment Determines Your Level Of Success

If you’re hanging out with naysayers and dream stealers, your chance of success is seriously limited. Being immersed in an environment with people who are possibility thinkers and know that every challenge has a solution is very liberating and uplifting.

Make sure you surround yourself with people who are uplifting; will support your endeavours and fuel your ideas; are able to see and share your vision; will challenge you to overcome your perceived limitations; will lift you up when you’re down; will call you on your BS; will celebrate your successes with.

Seek these people out and spend as much time as you possibly can with them. They will guide you to places and achievements you never imagined possible.

  1. Mindset Is Everything

Small minds produce small results whilst expansive minds are capable of limitless possibilities.

Millionaires minds are wired for success. For these super achievers it’s a given that they can achieve whatever they put their minds to. They wouldn’t entertain any other possibility.

Do they have doubts? Of course they do! The difference is they don’t give them oxygen. They only fuel the thoughts and belief systems that support their success and achievement of their goals and fulfilment of their potential.

Once you have a winning mindset, your success is inevitable.

  1. It’s Not Your Resources, But Your Resourcefulness That Matters

So millionaires do have plenty of financial resources. But most of them didn’t start out that way, and have you ever noticed that no matter how much money you have, you can always think up an idea that requires more than what you have? That is our nature, to expand beyond our current level of achievement.

And there were people on this trip who hadn’t yet achieved the millionaire status, but that didn’t stop them from dreaming big and finding the resources to fuel their visions wherever they could.

  1. Think Big! If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It!

Whatever your mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.’ Napoleon Hill.

Super achievers Don’t dismiss wild ideas that are larger than life because they can’t see how, with their current resources or level of knowledge, they are possible.

They entertain new possibilities, expand their level of thinking, embrace new concepts and are willing to transcend their current model of the world and pioneer new horizons.

Thinking big with an attitude of ‘How is this possible’ is liberating and exciting. And it’s how our new world must evolve if we are to reinvent ourselves and transform our world into a better place where we solve the potentially catastrophic challenges we face and where all of us can thrive into the future.

  1. Fundamentally, Millionaires Are The Same As Everyone Else

At the beginning and at the end of the day, each and everyone of us is the same at the core.

We’re conceived and born the same. We all die. We all breathe, eat and sleep. The only difference is their mindset. Our environment shapes us mentally and emotionally, but with brain neuro-plasticity, we can change our present and our future any time we choose by changing ourselves.

Wealthy people have fears, doubts and insecurities just like everyone else. They just don’t allow them to rule their life and determine their results. They focus on their vision and where they are going – not where they’ve been, or all the reasons they could fail.

Now you have some idea of what areas of your life you need to address if you want to play at a much higher level and achieve great things. The next question is, what are you going to do with these insights and how are you going to implement changes in your life according to what you’ve learned from them that will change your results? Knowledge is only powerful when you implement. Time for you to take action!
