In today’s digital world, you don’t want to be a one hit wonder. You want to create a sustainable and profitable brand that has longevity and mainstay.
In this article, I share five steps to help you grow an engaged audience that converts.
Share stories and provide value
When growing your online presence you have a tremendous opportunity to connect with people all over the world. Your brand will be worldwide. Often the thing that gets people, isn’t what makes them stay. Give them value from a perspective that is different.
Keep your content focused on one area of expertise
Building a personal brand that converts requires you to become an expert in your niche. One area only. Anything you publish should centre around that area. It’s no good to post about how to cook one day, then makeup the next day. No one is putting you in a box, it’s just all about clarity and keeping your audience out of confusion.
Show up consistently
Does your audience know what to expect from you? If they don’t it means you’re not showing up consistently. So to think about consistency, think about what story you want your content to tell visually. The colours, font, filters, and videos etc.
Show up frequently
Think of your online presence as the equivalent to a brick and mortar store. Ex: I sell digital coaching. Let’s say I sell products or services physically. I would have to get up and open the door and put the open sign on the door. Are you showing up frequently? Are you unlocking the door? How often you show up is just as important as what your content looks like. Don’t abandon your personal branding
Repeat steps 1-4 over and over again
Most people don’t see personal brand conversion because they aren’t doing it long enough or they are misaligned with who they are. Repetition is literally the fuel that causes your brand to become a wildfire. When this happens, you don’t need to seek to go viral because people will see you. Some will be attracted, others will be repelled. Focus is key!
Doing these five steps will build the trust that your audience craves. In turn, creates consistency which equates to profitability for your brand.
