Resilience is built through systems, not motivation. This session outlines three practical ways to turn sporadic effort into a predictable engine for progress.

Create Non-Negotiable Tasks

Consistency doesn’t require perfection. It requires commitment.

Start by identifying a short list of tasks that must happen every day or every week, no exceptions. These are the actions that directly move your business forward.

Examples might include:

  • Making a set number of sales calls
  • Checking in with clients
  • Reviewing key numbers

These tasks become non-negotiable. When they are protected and prioritised, progress becomes more reliable and less dependent on motivation.

Batch Similar Work

Constantly switching between different types of work drains focus and energy. Batching lets you work with greater clarity and less friction. Group similar tasks together and assign them to specific days or time blocks.

For example:

  • Marketing work on one dedicated day
  • Client calls grouped together
  • High-energy thinking scheduled when focus is strongest

This approach reduces mental load, improves quality of work, and helps momentum build naturally within each task type.

Build Accountability Into the System

Consistency is harder when you’re accountable only to yourself.

Create simple accountability by sharing your non-negotiable tasks with a team member, mentor, or accountability partner. Schedule a short weekly check-in to review what was completed and what wasn’t.

Accountability isn’t about pressure. It’s about visibility. When progress is reviewed regularly, consistency becomes easier to maintain.
